Everything you need to get started with DinkRound

1. Getting Started

To join DinkRound, you need an invitation from a group organizer. There are two ways to get started:

  • Invite link — Click the link your organizer shares (via text, email, or QR code) and you'll go straight to registration.
  • Registration code — Visit the registration page and enter the code your organizer provides.

During registration you'll create an account with your name, email, and a password. After signing up, check your inbox for a verification email and click the link to confirm your address. You'll need to verify before you can access the app or receive session invites.

2. Notification Preferences

DinkRound can notify you about upcoming sessions via email, SMS, or both. You can configure your preferences in your profile settings after logging in.

  • Email — Receive session invites and reminders with one-click RSVP links.
  • SMS — Get text messages and reply with keywords like YES or NO to RSVP instantly.

Enabling at least one notification channel ensures you won't miss a session. You can update these preferences any time from your profile.

3. Responding to Sessions

When a session is scheduled, you'll receive an invite through your enabled notification channels. There are several ways to respond:

  • Via email — Click the "I'm In" or "I'm Out" links in the email.
  • Via SMS — Reply with IN, YES, or 1 to join. Reply with OUT, NO, or 0 to pass.
  • Via the app — Log in and update your status from the session detail page.

If a session has a waitlist enabled and is already full, you can join the waitlist. If a spot opens up, all waitlisted players are notified at the same time — first to respond gets the spot.

Reminders are sent automatically at 6 days, 3 days, and 1 day before a session to anyone who hasn't responded yet.

4. Self-Registration

Some organizers use external registration systems (for example, a parks & recreation department website) in addition to DinkRound. When this applies, your session invite will include a link and instructions for completing any required external sign-up. Be sure to register through both DinkRound and the external system if your organizer requests it.

5. Round Robin Generator

DinkRound includes a free Round Robin Generator that creates balanced court rotation schedules for pickleball. Enter the number of players and courts, and the tool generates a set of rounds with fair matchups. It's available to anyone — no account required.
